Data protection is important for us and we are taking it seriously. Our privacy policy aims to inform you about the data which are being collected from users visiting these e-tools.

1) Validity of this policy

This privacy policy comprises the use of all „Celiac Facts“ e-tools developed within the Focus IN CD project, comprising the online courses for patients and physicians & dietitians as well as the web application „pediatric guidlines to diagnose celiac disease, all in several languages.  

2) Responsibility

The responsible operator of the online courses and the web-app is the Child Health Foundation (Stiftung Kindergesundheit), Munich, Germany. The Child Health Foundation is also responsible for data processing.  

The project’s website and the online courses are being provided by the company Soon-Systems ( A framework contract with Soon Systems was concluded corresponding to § 7 LDSG B-W respectively § 11 BDSG.

3) Legal Basis

The General Data Protection Regulation (kurz GDPR) as well as the Bavarian data protection regulations.

For registered users only:

If you decide to register with your personal data on this platform in order participate in CME-tests for accreditation at EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education), you herewith agree that in case of an operator exchange your agreement to the privacy policy remains effective and your data can be tranferred to the new operator.

4) Collection, processing and usage of person-related data

What are person-related data?

Person-related data comprise all information assigned to a person which allow that the individual person can be identified, such as name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Person-related data do not include information that cannot be allocated to a particular person or where the allocation would only be possible with a disproportionate effort.

We keep the data protection act of the Federal Republic of Germand and the data protection regulations of the European Union when processing person-related data.

The data will only be processed and kept within the Child Health Foundation and are and will never being forwarded to any Thirds Parties.

5) Data collection and storage

Visit of the e-tools:

Within the project „Focus IN CD“, three different e-tools were developed and have been made published. Users do not need to register in order to access and use the e-tools.

The e-tools comprise the following:

  •  Online course for patients with celiac disease or interested lay people in 6 languages:
      • Englisch
      • Croatian
      • German
      • Hungarian
      • Italian
      • Slovenian
  •  Online course for physicians & dietitians in 6 languages:
      • Englisch
      • Croatian
      • German
      • Hungarian
      • Italian
      • Slovenian
  • Web-App „Pediatric Guidelines“ to guide physicians throught the updated pediatric guidelines for Celiac Disease (other guidelines and languages are planned to be added in the future):

The following user data are being saved in the server-logfiles by the site operator Soon Systems:

- browser type and version

- operating system

- referrer URL

- hostname of the user's device

- time of server inquiry

However, these data cannot be allocated to a certain person. The collection of these data is only necessary to e.g. identify any web-server attacks . The log-files are automatically being deleted after 180 days.
